This book presents a comprehensive, corpus-based analysis of adverbial nouns in Modern Standard Arabic. Adopting a descriptive linguistic framework, the study utilizes a purposefully compiled corpus of over four million tokens from major Arabic news sources, including CNN and BBC Arabic. The research methodology applies Sinclair's (1999) model for data sampling and Hunston’s (2002) classification for data categorization, employing WordSmith Tools as the primary analytical instrument.

The book moves beyond specific lexical examples to explore the broader class of adverbial nouns, systematically analyzing their semantic values, cohesive functions, syntactic roles, and idiomatic usages within contemporary media discourse. Results demonstrate the pivotal function of this grammatical category in structuring and clarifying meaning in Arabic texts.

This work establishes a foundational descriptive framework for analyzing Arabic adverbial nouns. The findings offer valuable insights for researchers in Arabic linguistics and provide a practical resource for students and educators, enhancing both theoretical understanding and pedagogical applications related to Arabic grammar and discourse analysis.
